I'm not an attorney, but you can always remember the difference between slander and libel if you think of the acronym, "SLOW"...........Slander:Libel = Oral:Written.

For some reason, I've had the distinction between slander and libel forever burned into my brain in the words of J. Jonah Jameson in the first Spider-Man film...

 

Peter Parker: Spider Man wasn't trying to attack the city… he was trying to save it. That's slander!

 

J. Jonah Jameson: It is not. I resent that. Slander is spoken. In print, it's libel.

The conspiracy theorist in me, would point out that's the 2nd time someone who spoke out against a grading agency, disappeared..
