Washington Dollar First Day Covers to take off, now that they are sold out and NGC is slabbing them intact? There currently seems to be a lot of activity for the raw sets on Ebay. What do you think?

Traditionally, First Day Coin Covers have not done well. They make pick up now that NGC is slabbing them intact. Hard to say down the road?

The fact that these sold out at the mint makes me think there may be new interest in this type set. It's hard to say whether this interest is because of the new series, or because of the new slabbing option. Certainly, State Quarter covers didn't do well, and they were a new series.

Well, nowadays everything sells out at the Mint. The Coin Covers aren't really something special.

It's also nice that NGC does the whole First day of Mintage thing now

Don't forget that there is also a group of people that collect Washingtonia, a collecting phenomena that doesn't happen with many other subjects.
