For those interested, the Heritage discovery DBH sold...

Does anyone have more details as to how it was found?

"This is the discovery piece for the new Overton-130 variety that Heritage Senior Cataloger Mark Borckardt found on January 29, 2007."

Who owned it at the time of the sale? Heritage or a consignor?

I can proudly say I was in the room when the coin sold. It opened at $8000, and there were at least six bidders pursuing it.

James,

Did you happen to notice who the underbidder was? I was watching the drama unfold between the winning bidder's agent and our friend, and didn't keep up with the flow.

Brad, now that you mention it - I didn't! I was watching the guys in the back, and I know it wasn't Charles, and I don't think it was the gentleman with one arm either (sorry, I don't know who he is). Seems to me it was the bidder in the front of the room....
