What happens when a slab is cracked open

This question has probably been asked before,,

 

but if a coin has been removed from its slab is there a way of removing it from the registry/population

 

and if it is then re-slabed by the same firm is it counted again ?

Send back the insert and they will remove it from the pops (and send you $0.50 per tab I believe).

 

Get it slabbed again, as raw, and it will go back into the pops at whatever it slabbed at.
