What is it worth to you???

12 posts in this topic

Here is an interesting request, one of which I have often wondered. What is this quarter collection really worth in today's market unslabbed. I think to the right collector who knows what they are looking at it would be worth a good penny. cool.gif Here is a list of the coins. What would something like this be worth to you? Now I am not asking to go down the list with a greysheet and agonize over each coin. Just a blanket price will do as these are not for sale anyhow. I know what I have invested into them, but I also know to each collector they are different prices. Anyhow here is the list.

The Set is full BU with the exception of the 1932 D. Also minus 3 coins 32 S, 35 D, 36 D. If you had this set and were going to offer it to a another collector, you would be asking in the range of? While I know what the value of the set is to me, what the market would decide is another story. For purposes assume the grading of the coins is accurate. I know hiddin in this set there is at least one MS67 coin, but we shall leave that out of the equation. It will be fun for me to see what number you come up with.

The answer depends entirely on how good of a grader you are, because personally I'm not comfortable assigning value on another person's opinion without seeing the coin in-hand. smile.gif

I'm not much on value of these either. I know that these always seem to go for decent money on ebay. I always have to look at the price guide just to even tell me what retail is. That would be a nice set depending on condition Bruce! thumbsup2.gif

That is a fair statement Mike, but just for purposes assume I am correct, just for the game.

If I were a buyer, I wouldn't pay more than $500 for it, but I don't collect Washies.

This is a fair statement to say you do not collect Washingtons, but $500.00 might get you the 32 D. What about the rest of the coins?

Bobby I will try to bring the set with me to the TNA show. I am sure you would like to see the set in person, then you could tell the other board members what you think of it.

Wouldn't have a clue. Of course, being clueless is a natural condition for me. tongue.gif

You are not clueless. You could teach me a ton on Proof coins. I could teach ya a thing or 2 on Washingtons. All the same we both have knowledge that could be shared.
