FAQ - What is a certification number?

The certification number is a string of numbers found on the label of a certified coin.

The NGC certification number consists of six or seven digits followed by a dash and three more digits. Example: 123456-001. When submitting NGC coins for the Registry, please provide the complete number.

When adding coins from an NGC Multi-Coin Holder to the registry, you must enter the individual certification numbers for each coin in the set. The certification number on the multi-coin holder represents the coins as they appear in the holder from left to right. So, for example, if the certification number on the holder is 1234567(001-003) the certification numbers you would enter for these coins would be, from left to right, 1234567-001, 1234567-002 and 1234567-003.
