What (if ANYTHING) can be done about this

Unfortunately, from my experience nothing. Spots like those are not just sitting on the surface of the coin. You can dip that puppy till it’s old and gray and that spot will still show. Shame, it’s a very eye appealing coin otherwise.

Why not contact NGC and see if you can't send it in for conservation?

Can they do "SPOT" fixes, or will they have to dip the whole coin ?? confused.gif

Seems like the consensus is NCS.

I will give it a try and post the coin after it's WART removal !!

This is 100% without a doubt an NCS candidate, and in my opinion, it MUST be sent in without delay. That spot will only get worse, potentially MUCH worse. For the good of this lovely coin, please don't hesitate.
