What (if ANYTHING) can be done about this

This is an OTHERWISE gorgeous NGC MS-65 that has been entombed for about 10 years.

Unfortunately, from my experience nothing. Spots like those are not just sitting on the surface of the coin. You can dip that puppy till it’s old and gray and that spot will still show. Shame, it’s a very eye appealing coin otherwise.

I guess that is part of the question.

Can they do "SPOT" fixes, or will they have to dip the whole coin ??

yes they did a coin for me with 3 spots on it and it came back stunning !

I did not ask for a report on conservation but the coin was graded + 2 on the origanl submition

Seems like the consensus is NCS.

I will give it a try and post the coin after it's WART removal !!

This is 100% without a doubt an NCS candidate, and in my opinion, it MUST be sent in without delay. That spot will only get worse, potentially MUCH worse. For the good of this lovely coin, please don't hesitate.
