But as your images show, this coin has character. I can never get tired looking at classic coins, to me they each have their own unique quality and appeal regardless of the grade. I like it......

Since this coin is from the New Orleans Mint, a southern history moment is in order. This very coin could have been in either one of these pockets.

 

In 1853 Franklin Pierce, the14th elected President of the United States, made Jefferson Davis his Secretary of War.
