Care to offer an opinion/grade of this 64 bronze Indian.

The luster does not show in my photos very well, but is average. The color is mostly brown with a few flashes of red.

It's a 65 easy if it weren't for that blasted rim ding. Very nice coin otherwise.

I don't believe that is a rim ding. In person, there is some raised metal in the field right next to it, it appears to be some kind of cud or similar die defect.

I do not believe it is a rim ding either, the rim appears intact. I do not know if it is a mint process error or not, it still may be a post mint problem. Still a great looking coin JJ.

That's a wierd place for a ding - I'll go with the group and say that it's probably not one.

 

That being said, this coin looks 64 w/ a shot at 65 to me.

Beautiful Indian Cent. I'll say MS-64.

I think that mark on the rim was intentional damage--maybe the start of a hole being drilled. A very attractive coin otherwise.
