Why can't I use Error Service or Sample Slabs in Registry Sets?

In most cases, NGC sample coins are not labeled with a grade and therefore would not be eligible for the registry. If a participant has a sample that is labeled with a grade, they may submit it for registry competition.

Regarding error coins, at this time they are not eligible for registry competition however, we do plan to incorporate them in the future.

Actually, braddick is correct. There were some cases in the past where we accepted error coins for competition. However, they would have been straight forward in their eligibility for a particular slot within a set. Even in those cases, coins were not entered with their error detail by Registry data entry personnel.

Strictly speaking, at this point, error coins are not eligible for the registry.
