Cleaned? Grade

Not only does it have a serious scratch across the obverse, but it also is covered with hairlines that might be from a wipe, an attempted cleaning or having been slid harshly across another surface.

Coin is VF-35 details; harshly cleaned and scratched. Market would knock this back to a VG or Fine for price.

 

That's ashame, it's a nice date to see!

By the way, yes very harshly cleaned. Probably about an EF grade but worth closer to melt.

Thanks everyone. I am just trying to learn. Wanted to make sure I was seeing the right things.

 

Maybe I should have picked something without the large scratch for grading purposes. Oh I'll try it with something else later.
