2003,2004,2005 Silver Eagle Dollar Missing "W" West Point mint mark

2 posts in this topic

I have recently purchased 3 coins on ebay (graded by another service) stating that they were minted at the West Point facility. When I recieved them they did not have the "W" mint mark on the reverse side of the coins.

Is it true that some of the Silver Eagles were minted in West Point but did not stamped?

Yes, in previous years silver, gold and platinum eagles have been produced and packaged at the West Point Mint. However none of these coins contain mint marks, so NGC does not designate any mint mark on the holder. The only Mint State Eagles to have been designated from the West Point mint on the coin or holder of issue are the 1999 W with W gold eagle errors, 2000 Millennium set issues, and the 2006 W Eagles sold directly from the Untied States Mint.
