1991 Wide A M Not Close Am

In the official red book for the years 1999 and 2000 list the wide A M for $35.00 in ms-65. The AM in AMERICA has a large space between the letters. Some People say it was struck with proof dies since proof coins have this same space. I found one for 1991.

 

 

Have any of these been found? I just found one.

If I remember right, all 1991 cents have a wide AM. Looks like they just reused some old circulation strike reverse dies to me. Don't know how they determined they came from proofs. I can't tell. Just some extra polishing IMO.

I believe all Memorial cents prior to 1992? were struck with the Wide A M and it is the 1993-present that are scarcer to find with a Wide A M.

Does this mean they were all wrong up untill 1993?
