Are "W" Coin Resubitted for Review ...

My Last coin I sent in for review had been redesignated "*" - DO most of these coins having the "W" designation get the "*" on the Holder or is it a case by case bassis ??? I think this coin is a close DCAM but designated "W" Cameo is that why it got the "W" ?

For a very short time NGC gave coins the designation of “W” or “T”. The “W” was for white and the “T” was for toned. This designation ended very quickly. “W” and “T” have nothing to do with star designation. All coins sent in for re-holder, special designation, re-grade or other services with the “W” or “T” will have the designation removed.
