New Picture old Battle Creek coin

Here's a new picture (my old one was the Goldberg auction image) of a BC coin I bought in September. The image is courtesy of Laura D.

Thanks, SkyMan. How do you think this toning pattern forms? I figured it was some variation on crescent toning, with another coin(s?) overlapping, but I can't quite picture it.

My opinion is that cat's eye toning occurs by the formation of a gap where the burlap or canvas bag has pulled further away from the coin while laying in storage. This may be visually thought of as an "air bubble" sitting directly over the untoned portion of the coin.
