Possibly the areas I've highlighted were what the seller thought was rub. To my admittedly inexperienced eyes, it looks more like weak strike there. I'm not certain, but that's my guess.

Your picture doesn't provide any indication of luster, and the seller may have been "covering all of the bases" by giving it the AU/BU designation. The area Michael highlighted above the ear is a common area for wear. Here are some slabbed examples for comparison:

It may be my old eyes or the scan but there seems to be wear on the breast and tail consistent with AU.......If I am wrong my apoligies.
I post em to be picked at so there is definitely no reason to appoligize. thumbsup2.gif

Going from your pics, that coin is a slider (very slightly worn) and was correctly described as AU/BU. One of the easiest ways to spot the first signs of wear on a Morgan is to look for the 'grey' areas on the cheek and fields where the lustre has been slightly worn away, as well as the grey areas on the high spots such as the eagles breast/leg feathers and claws, tops of coton bolls and edges of leaves, hair above ear, etc.

It can often times be difficult for people not familiar with this series to differentiate between very slight wear and the normal frost breaks seen on mint state Morgans, but the lustre will always give it away, especially on the early S-mint dates which are known for their very good lustre. On many later dates that came straight from the mint with poor or steel grey lustre, it can be somewhat more difficult.
