When UNC Looks better than proof

In my opinion, these are much nicer in UNC. I wasn't impressed with the proofs.

 

 

I agree. The SF mint uncirculated coins are beautiful, more so than the proofs. My SF mint uncirc $5 gold just came and I like it better than that proof also.

 

The image does not capture the fine strike of this coin since I scanned it inside its plastic capsule so it is just a bit out of focus.

Honestly, I almost always prefer UNC to proof. I just like the luster and look of an UNC coin better than reflective, flashy mirrors that show every imperfection. Plus, UNC coins look better when toned.

Just a personal opinion, but I almost always think that a business strike coin looks better than a proof. The least little mark on a proof seems far more magnified than an even larger scrape on an UNC.
