It looks like an artifact of imaging. The coins apparently were photographed sitting on a white sheet of paper, but the background doesn't look white at all in any of the photos.

 

My thoughts eaxactlly. I also thought the surfaces looked terrible on the two pieces, particularly for relatively common Lincolns to find in full red.

originally I was just looking around to maybe find a few nice toners then came across that. It was another nasty(my opinion) one but just wanted to verify what type of toning it might be AT or NT ect. I am still trying to learn how to be able to tell the dif between the toning types. I already have them both in full blazing red 65+ but no I am working on a toner set so I guess I will have to keep looking huh 27_laughing.gif.
