Have too much cash on hand? Collect Canadian dollars!

Better than Bob Marley coins, I guess. confused-smiley-013.gif

Does that mean you don't like jammin', too?

Marley coins are no Hello Kitty coins, if you know what I mean.

The denominations with the most commemorative or special issue strikes are 25 cent pieces, 50 cent pieces, and dollars. There are some special 5 and 10 cent pieces, but not nearly as many as the other denominations.

Give 'em time and they'll catch up with the other denominations. Didn't they do a 3c peice a while back?

Sure I have spend that much just to complete the Canadian Qtr Set.

Not to mention in 2005, I also have to purchase the Netherlands' Euro Mint Set in order to get the Liberation Qrt. (attached)

You figure, the only way to get this Canadian Quarter is to buy the Netherlands Mint Set? I think I am in the wrong business.

Just checked out the RCM website. I have to say the US Mint non-flash website is so much easier to navigate. Is it just me or do others feel the same way?

Yeah, verily.

The RCM website is cumbersome and slow. Searching is a pain, and going from the shopping cart back to the catalog takes a long time (you have to go back to the beginning instead of being able to continue using your previous search parameters). tonofbricks.gif

I once spoke with a nice person in their customer service who said how happy their Board of Directors were with the system before she said that she agreed with me! smile.gif

One thing I did was stop buying from the RCM. Instead, I found Colonial Acres Coins from Waterloo, Ontario. I found them very easy to work with and their prices a very good on all merchandise, not just RCM coins. I have no relationship with Colonial Acres except as a very satisfied customer.

Thanks Scott. Great site! Interesting that they are buying the 2006 enamel Medal of Bravery dollar for CN $250 now. Just checked it out on eBay too. Good to know the Canadian modern coin market has some movement. I haven't been a big fan of the colorized coins but there seems to be a market for them.

The market for "colorized" Canadian coins is limited to the Enamel Effect dollars. I see that Gatewest is selling last year's EE dollars for $359 and doesn't list the price for this year's coins. In order to get one of this year's EE dollars, they make you buy at least $3,000 worth of 2006 RCM products from them and then call them for the price.

No gracias. sumo.gif
