Difference between 1896 VAM-19 MPD 8 & 1896 VAM-19 MPD 8 LDS

For 1896 VAM-19 there are two very different stages for the “MPD”. One is like the picture in the TOP-100 guide which shows the two hooks coming up. On the LDS there is only one. There is also a die crack on the coin. There is no note of this in the VAM book and after consulting with Leroy Van Allen I felt this was the best way to distinguish the coins from one another.
