Then how could they claim to the IRS that they sold it for $500 if the receipt shows $1500?

Hey gmarguli, I don't know who you deal with, but I always get receipts for my purchases, even at shows. Now that doesn't mean the dealers won't "loose" those receipts, but I always have mine!!

His comments were more in jest... HE was more referring to the crooks who like to downplay the sale of coins they sale.
