Franklins: What Year Is The Bugs Bunny Variety?

9 posts in this topic

There are bugs bunny clashes of several dates, but the most common and popular is 1955. I have handled a number of MS64 FBL and MS65 FBL Bugs Bunny Franklins, and they can be sold for up to 75% more than a regular piece. It's also possible to cherrypick them cheeap; it's value in general is still largly under-appreciated because it has had no recognition from the major services. It was only recently (within a few months time) that one of the top two services, PCGS, started recognizing this variety. This change of pace is a major developement for bugs bunny halves, too, because both NGC and PCGS refused to recognize it for years and years! I wonder if NGC will start???

Thats some great advice... I was going to post the main year as 1955 as that is what I thought it was, but I was not 100% sure. Thanks!

I see,it's the FBL pieces that go for big bucks. I've seen normal BUs and above only trade for a few dollars above the norm 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Yes, I think you will find that the FBL coins are so much more popular, in general, than non-FBL that there seems to be a real demand for the FBL bugs bunny in 64, 65, and 66. Specialist dealers can get many multiples for MS66FBL Bugs bunny coins, but you can cherrypick one at regular price, if you are lucky enough!

Heh,a local dealer friend has BU's only $1.50 above a regular piece. Not even worth cherrypicking. Now if I could find a few FBLs wink.gif
