Buffalo First Strike question

2 posts in this topic

In looking through the posts about how to submit Buffalo proof's for first strike it says that the coins must be submitted by July 29th or the coints must be 'unopened' as received fromt he mint. Does unopened mean to send the entire postmarked box as received from the mint? If it is postmarked at the mint by July 29th will that be eligible for first strike?

Thank you for any clarification you can provide.

Yes, coins submitted after July 29 must be sent in their original, sealed shipping box. Date documentation for the Buffalo Proofs is enclosed within the packaging, and the entire box must be sent for coins to be eligible for the first strikes designation. If the box is postmarked on or before July 29, the coins will be eligible.
