What do you think................Shilling?

14 posts in this topic

I've been watching the activity on this auction, and it seems to me that something isn't right. Most of the graded Morgans appear to be in NNC, NTC and other 3rd-World slabs. There are a few NGC that I can see. The two highest bidders have only two eBay purchases between them. One was a ring and the other is listed as private although it was from a coin source. Another bidder has just two eBay purchases. One was a common Morgan and the other was a car repair manual. Am I being paranoid, or is this seller getting some help from his friends?

While I'm at it, would someone be kind enough to explain to this insufficiently_thoughtful_person (ME!) how I can post an eBay listing to these boards without having to copy all of that garbage?

Thanks,

Chris

Ok ....What I think is that if I had THAT many "High quality coins" I would be looking to an auction house or something other than ebay.

Someone this disreputable or "Dumb" needs to be overlooked by me.

The bidding is Very wierd.

Isn't there an easier way to copy that to a post?

Oh,I see. Click on the blue "e",the internet explorer icon to the left of the address so that the address is highlighted, then either right click on the highlighted address to copy or simply push CRTL+C when it is highlight.Than just paste it into the URL box in the posting form.

Mom is fine, but getting antsy. We're leaving for Las Vegas on June 7 and will return on June 18. I'll be playing in some of the pool tournaments between trips to the craps tables and slots.

The Riviera used to have a slot with a large glass container on top that was filled with 100,000 Morgan & Peace dollars. That was the jackpot if you hit it. Every year I would put about $200 into it. When I went back in 2000, it was gone.

Does anyone know of any casino in Las Vegas that has a slot that dispenses silver dollars like Cal-Neva in Reno?

I haven't seen any since the late '60's and early '70's. Some casino's slots pay out the $10 silver and gold plated tokens.

So, what's the deal with the Cal-Neva in Reno?

The Cal-Neva has a few quarter-slots scattered on the floor that pay out silver dollars and/or silver eagles. You play just 25c per game and the three reels have the numbers 1-5 and "wild" symbols on them. Three of the same numbers and/or "wilds" pay the corresponding number of dollars, example: 2-WILD-2 pays two dollars. When I was there last year, I spent $80 and won 18 Morgan & Peace dollars. There weren't any high-grade coins, but it was fun.
