Ben Franklin Commems - Update

4 posts in this topic

For those of you who haven't seen the latest Coin World, the Monnaie de Paris has produced a restrike of a 1784 medal that honored Ben Franklin. It is being sold exclusively by Talisman Coins, www.talismancoins.com

I think the restrike would be a very appropriate addition to go along with the Franklin Commems. Now, if there were only some way that we could convince NGC to encapsulate both the MS & PF Commems with the restrike. That would be quite a treasure!

I already knew that NGC wouldn't grade medals from the Monnaie de Paris. However, it would be nice to have it encapsulated with the commems. NGC could just note that the medal is a 2006 restrike of the 1784 medal produced by the Monnaie de Paris. I'd be happy!

I've brought this thread back because I received an e-mail from John at Talisman Coins today. The medals have arrived from Paris and he shipped mine immediately. If anyone is interested in this medal, click on the link above.
