Ankur..just gorgeous coins, the $3 princess and the Flowing Hair $1--wow....

Coindude- I have a few of those old toned sets too that aren't worth the cost of slabbing but are too eye-appealing to part with...............

Attractive stone mountain too..great, distinct color

Elbezar, another dazzling SLQ..FH or not I think the strike looks almost nicer through the folds of the drapery and across the thigh..

Thanks for sharing your purchases e1, I love drinking them in--definitely eye candy for the collector :cloud9:

Here's a pretty find I bought today XF45 --seems about right for the grade...seller's pics so I'm just crossing my fingers that it looks this nice in hand when it arrives..

A nice new toned quarter in the relatively scarce and short-lived NGC Holder type 8 (according to the post of Conder101, NGC 8 is described as -- "The serial numbers have been reduced in size and moved from above the barcode to beneath it. This proved to be very unpopular and NGC 8 lasted only for about four weeks in August and Sept of 2000.")

If you haven't read Conder101's post regarding the history of NGC Slabs, you can find it here: Conder101 NGC Slab Description Post

Interestingly, this coin also has the "T" designation noting its dark and prominent "Toning".

Nice coin and it is my understanding that the slabs with a "T" are quite scarce. I wonder if a slab collector would give you a premium for it.

I hope you enjoy seeing it. Remember with sample collect the slab not the coin.

Real nice 67 for my album, other side when I get it.

Was assured by seller the other side is just a problem free.

Any guess on a grade?

Hey AJ

That coin is one of the most beautiful coins I have ever seen.

Don't know what it is, I just love it.

Man you should be real proud of that one.

Now if you ever have a problem with storage, well you just let me know.

To be a nice guy, I will even pay the shipping. lol

Visited a nice sized show this weekend 50 tables, unfortunately the size of my cash arsenal wasn't as big as I'd have liked, but I did manage to fill a large number of lower priced holes in my 1950-1970 set of raw cameos as I focussed largely on coins from the mid-late 1960's. But I do need to mention that proof sets from the 1950's and early 60's were in short supply and I heard many comments of "they all went to melt a few months ago" that of course made me glad I began my search for cameos when I did.

These actually came from my local B&M last week:

Check out Charmy's web site: ThePennyLady.com -

she has another 1921 Cent in PCGS 65 RD - and its

a blazer - cost 50% more than the RB - and I'm happy

with RB [ my luck with RD's stinks - they all go RB anyway ].

I'd like to find a matching 21-S Cent now - all part of my

Mother's birthyear set.

Most of my friends laugh about her being born in

an expensive year. At least there's just one quarter,

my Dad was born in 1917 - and there are six quarters.

Lets not discuss the Halves for 1917 & 1921...

Generally:

95%+ Red --> Full Red

5% Red-Brown

5% or less Red --> Brown

With this said, I have seen several coins in full red (even newer slabs) that are not 95% red, although these are supposedly the standards employed.

My newest addition to my 20th Century Type Set. I took two sets of photos, one with direct light highlighting the luster, and the other with diffused light highlighting the beautiful detail and surfaces.
