1903 Engraved Invitation to the Dedication of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition:

Louisiana_Purchase_Invite.jpg

Three 9 X 8 1/8 card stock pages bound together with a pink ribbon. A tissue protects and separates each card. The cover, shown here, is deeply engraved with a depiction of the official emblem of the exposition by Raphael Beck.

Unlisted by Hendershot in his book on St. Louis World's Fair memorabilia and also by Curtis Radford in his works on Souvenir Cards.

Raphael Beck earned international distinction for winning first-prizes with his designs of the official emblems for the Pan-American Exposition (1901), the Louisiana Purchase Exposition (1903) and the Lewis and Clark Exposition (1905, honorary diploma). His record of these three first-prizes from international expositions is unparalleled.

Thanks John

I really love the samples, and they can be very hard to find the old one's.

I think that's why I enjoy them so much.

Today I picked up roughly 14 different Ike Dollars and roughly the same for Kennedy Half Dollars. So I will spare you all the pictures of those. but I will show this one that I got as well.

We have some better Jeff experts than me there Alan, but I'll put my 2 cents in. I'm not sure what you're wanting to know and the pics are a little hard to go by. All I can tell is looks like a proof to me with maybe a little toning or haze around the edges. Real hard to tell by that pic Alan.
