Slab

SLAB = The plastic sealed holder that a graded coin resides in . Not all holders are created equal , as some are not sealed well , some are guaranteed , some are tracked in lists , etc. A slab is not the same as a coin folder/book that anyone can press or slide a coin into , yet you can buy coin 'slabs' from coin hobby supply stores that you can put your own coins in , but these are known as 'holders' ...to qualify as SLAB in hobby speak , your coin should have been encapsulated by a TPG either graded or not.
