Is the Rim Nick on this Rainbow Morgan Large enough to cause a No Grade?

7 posts in this topic

if i was at pcgs i would not grade it

no way this kills the coin for me this rim gouge it is not a rim nick

i think with pcgs you got a 50/50 chance 893scratchchin-thumb.gif but i would not grade this coin at all if i was at pcgs

this does not make it a bad coin though

more than likely 893scratchchin-thumb.gif ngc will grade this coin

NGC, PCGS and ANACS would grade this coin, but I bet it would cost 1/2 point in the overall grading formula. Frankly, the PCGS inner ring will practically hide most of the rim nick, and if the coins is appropriately "net-graded" down, it will appear to be very "PQ" since the nick won't be apparent.

It is easier to see rim nicks in PCGS rattlers and NGC and ANACS slabs.

I've seen some amazingly bad "rim bites" in EVERY holder.
