Submission Questions

2 posts in this topic

Two questions regarding submissions:

a. When submitting Proof quarters, does leaving them in the mint plastic case increase their chances of getting a higher grade (other than the removal fee)?

b. How long does a submission usually take to go from "Received" to "Scheduled for Grading" if sent via the Modern tier?

Typically the less handling the better, this is especially true of Modern Proof coinage. At NGC we have trained professionals who know how to properly remove coins. I have seen coins sent in using the wrong flips have haze up in transit to NGC, this can reduce the grade of the coin, while if the coins had been set into NGC in the original holder, proper flips would have been used.

Current turn around times can be viewed on our website. http://www.ngccoin.com/services/services.asp

Thank you
