Multi-coin holder questions

2 posts in this topic

Just a few questions on the multi-coin holders...

What is the number of characters you are limited to in naming a custom set?

If a coin has a pedigree on its current NGC holder, will the pedigree be lost on the multi-coin cert. label?

I note that the web page indicates that 6-coin holders are for proof/mint sets but can they also be used for custom sets? Why the limitation?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your questions.

You are limited to 25 characters per line. Single grade sets (a set with all coins of same grade) can have two lines of text, while varied grade sets have just one. Note that all "Custom Set Names" must be approved by NGC, and we reserve the right to rename a set at our sole discretion.

Pedigrees will display on Multi-Coin Holders sets, but space is limited. Coins with varieties and pedigrees may wind up with oddly abbreviated descriptions. If all the coins are from one collection, say Eliasberg, the set title can include this information so that it need not be included on each line.

The bottom row of coins in the six coin sets have smaller inserts that were designed especially for cent, nickel, dime, and quarter sized coins. Because of this size variation, not every coin can be accommodated in a six coin set, while a complete roster of options is available in the five-coin set. Any six coin set comprised of those four denominations can be done.
