Grading modern proof sets in original mint holders

2 posts in this topic

I think someone else also asked this question sometimes back on these boards. Many people think that it would be a cool idea if NGC also graded modern proof sets in the original holders just like the GSA dollars. Did you ever consider such an idea? If yes why was it rejected? If no then would you be willing to? smile.gif Thanks.

Hi,

Yes, we have considered grading proof sets as you mentioned in the past. However, the logistics involved in creating a label to encompass all the grade levels and designations that must be included on earlier proof sets is too small to put on the proof set itself, and the later proof sets don't all come sealed.

Thanks,
