Proof Coinage and Field issues.

I have a proof coin I was going to send in to NGC for grading and encapsulation - However I have a question before doing so - Is hazing of the Mirrored fields a normal ocurance of a proof coin and is this a detractable grade item for the coin as graded by NGC 893scratchchin-thumb.gif. I removed this coin from its original holder and its has a hazing to the mirrors. Thanks Mike

It is very common for proof coins, due to their delicate surfaces, to acquire haze over time and it does factor into the grade. How much of a factor depends on how thick the haze is and/or how disruptive the haze is over the mirrored surfaces.
