KM11.2a is brass, 11.1 and 11.2 are copper nickle. So far, no problem. But Krause doesn't explain the difference confused.gif between 11.1 and 11.2. Hopefully someone here will give me some guidance. grin.gif

Hi,

Krause 11.1 has the reverse inscription 5.0G (5 grams) while the 11.2 has the inscription on the reverse legend as 5.0GR (5 grams). Thus, the dates 1946, 1960 and 1961 have a extra 'R' in the legend of 'GR'.

Error #(I've lost track) emangry.gif in the 2003 Edition of Krause! The description of 11.3 includes the "GR", but both 11.1 and 11.2 are listed as "G"! Makes sense that the inscription change started on the copper-nickle coins and continued on the brass. My AU has the "G", so it's worth 10-bucks or so less than I hoped. emsad.gif

Thanks for the help.
