Brown Pedigree on NGC Slabs

2 posts in this topic

I recently purchased an 1802 half dollar that has the "Brown" pedigree on the holder. The holder appears to be of the variety issued from 1992-1995 and has a barcode but no line between the insert and coin. Is this pedigree from Robbie Brown? If so, how many other non-copper coins have this pedigree? I understand Robbie Brown had major copper holdings but did not know there were any extensive silver holdings. If this is not the trace of the pedigree, can you help me as to its attribution? Thanks.

This pedigree is indeed that of Robinson S. Brown, better know for his coppers. The time frame you suggested is correct. NGC certified about a dozen early halves from his collection.
