Old NGC black holders

I've heard on several occasions that NGC used to use black plastic in holders instead of, (or in addition to) the white plastic in current use. Is this true? Do any of you NGC guys have a picture of one that you can post? I've heard that the old black ones were really attractive and really made gold coins stand out. Does NGC have any plans to offer the black ones again?

When NGC first opened, black cores were used. However, within weeks, NGC changed over to the white core.

 

At this time NGC has no plans to bring back the black core.

Somebody showed me a picture of a gold coin in the old black core holder. It was stunning! I also saw a silver dollar in one, which I thought was equally attractive. It would be nice to have the choice! Maybe a poll is in order? laugh.gif
