Adina73
Found this coin in the back of my grandmothers desk. Was wondering if anyone could give me any information about it. And what kind of value it has. I tried to get clear pics. Sorry if I didn’t. Thanks in advance
Sandon
Your coin is an Iranian gold piece of the last Shah, apparently dated 1339, which corresponds roughly to 1960. It appears to be of the one quarter Pahlavi denomination, which would have a diameter of 16 mm and weigh slightly over 2 grams (2.034 grams standard weight), containing 0.0589 troy oz. of gold, .900 fine. This one shows some wear and is worth bullion value, which at current historically high gold prices is $161.83. See Iran 1/4 Pahlavi KM 1160a Prices & Values | NGC. (The image shown on this page is a coin of the same type but of a different date.
