El Cazador "Denomination" set- intact
1 1

3 posts in this topic

Hello, I am looking for information on this set of 5 El Cazador coins. (1/2, 1, 2, 4 & 8 Reales)

1. Was this set assembled by Franklin Mint?

2. What year the set/sets was produced (set 86 of 200)?

3. Is having a denomination set more valuable than assembling 5 NGC coins separately?.

Thanks if you can help, I am brand new to NGC forums

Hello and welcome to the forum!

I have one piece from the El Cazador shipwreck that was certified by ANACS a very long time ago when the wreck was first discovered. I was unaware of these sets and had thought all the coins were slabbed by ANACS way back when the coins were first recovered. This is possibly a better question to post on the Ask/NGC forum and see if one of their customer service representatives has more information on these sets that they could tell you. Here is the piece I got decades ago when the wreck was first discovered.
