NewEra
I found this coin in my daughter's five-gallon water jugg piggy bank. It's pretty Cool for a circulated coin.
powermad5000
Not to be "that guy" but what am I supposed to be looking at that is "cool"? It looks like a normal lightly circulated Wyoming Statehood quarter to me.
Henri Charriere
Danny Downer here. Same goes for me. On the one hand, it's not "real;" it's a CLAD, not a smidgen of silver anywhere. On the other hand, your heir has put a quarter away for a rainy day. An admirable trait: thrift! Little Miss NewEra:: Papa! Papa: Oui, Fraulein! TOCHTER: Why were you in my room and why did you take my quarter? PAPA:: NEIN, FRAULEIN! NEIN! TOCHTER: Your DNA is all over my bottle! My quarter is gone! PAPA: (Holy cow! What's she watchin," Forensic Files???) Don't worry, I was just wonderin' if it was worth $50 mil? TOCHTER: Only the Bicentennials are worth that much. You know that! PAPA: Es tud Mir leid! ( am sorry.) How can I make it up to you? TOCHTER: YOU CAN PUT FOUR NEW QUARTERS IN THE JUG FOR THE ONE YOU "BORROWED"! PAPA: (She must take after her mother!) Du bist ein helles Kopfchen! (She's one smart cookie!) Q.A.: LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVE A FLEDGLING YOUNG NUMISMATIST ON YOUR HANDS. A REGULAR 1972 KENNEDY HALF WILL FIT EASILY INTO THE MOUTH OF THAT JUG. IF YOU'D LIKE TO GIVE IT TO HER, PM ME AND IT'S YOURS. Edited Friday at 05:16 PM by Henri Charriere A little body English to finesse the delivery. ThePhiladelphiaPenny
Not bad, especially from a piggy-bank. Doesn't seem to have too many contact marks and would be great for a circulated quarter album. I assume it has a more desirable surface when viewed in person? RWB
Ahhh -- but the secret question is -- When issued that quarter was kosher as are all US coins. But having been recovered from a piggy bank, is it still kosher or halal ? Edited Friday at 11:17 PM by RWB
