1954? D Wheat cent error
1 1

This appears to be a 1951-D cent on which the "1" was deformed by a scrape. The apparent slight weakness on the left side of the reverse could be from a worn or misaligned die, or possibly from die fill ("grease"), but, in any case, this is worth no premium to knowledgeable collectors.

I also think this is a 1951 D that took a hit to the last one in the date numerals which partially "pushed" the one to the side. This would be considered as damage and not an error.

As far as this being from a grease filled die, I just think it is one of many that were struck from a worn die, in this case being a worn reverse die. With a mintage of 625,355,000 the Mint was cranking these out and using the dies to the point of failure before changing them. Lincoln Wheat cents were not all struck from matched sets of dies that wore evenly and especially the reverse dies where there was no change in lettering, numerals, or design from year to year.
