Looking For Insight/Opinions On 2016 P Theodore Roosevelt Quarter 1 1

Hello collecting coins has been a hobby of mine for a few years but I don't know a whole lot outside of the basics. I came across an interesting piece that I hope someone could give me more insight on. It’s a 2016 P Theodore Roosevelt quarter with a significantly raised rim and the coin itself is slightly smaller in diameter than a nickel.

Just a damaged coin.   Perhaps someone started to spoon this coin or an attempt to turn it into a ring but didn't finish.  If you goggle spooned coin or coin ring you will see other examples that have a similar look to yours.   Could also have been caught in a dryer, there are endless ways that coins get damaged, how that happens only the person that did the damage really knows.   Regardless of how it came to look like this it did not leave the mint in the form it is in now, so it is just damage.
