Popular Post Greenstang
Welcome to the forum Not an error, just discolouration probably caused by environment exposure. No matter the actual cause, it is worth 25 cents. Sandon, Mpeelman107 and powermad5000 2
Sandon
Coins that were submerged in wishing wells and swimming pools for extended periods may show discoloration like this. In this case that is unfortunate, as "S" mint circulation quality issue National Parks quarters were only sold in roll and bag quantities to collectors for a premium. The 2016-S Fort Moultrie issue had a reported mintage of only 979,566 pieces, but it has no current collector value with such environmental damage.
