1987 D penny question

Pretty new to this just want to see if someone experienced could tell me what this is or confirm if I am correct on what I think it is? Is this a blister or some kind of corrosion? When I zoom in next to the D, it looks like a raised circle. Thanks have a great night.

For the most part, your photos are not properly cropped and mostly too far away. I cannot tell if that is a plating blister that gave way, or if it is a hit or dimple from something pointy hitting the coin in that area piling up metal next to the small hole it created.

Either way, kudos for not thinking right away that it is some kind of mint error. (thumbsu

Looks like a plating blister that has popped. Corrosion wil probably start to set in now that     
air has been exposed to the zinc. Best to get rid of it now.
