Any ideas of what type of coin this is? I can't find anything about it. It was my wife's grandfathers and he use to keep it in his pocket all the time. We think he got in in Germany.

I don't think it is a genuine original. For one thing, the rims are thin and somewhat sharply raised in places, which is not the way the originals were struck.

The fuzzy details are not right either.
