Shelbygz
Hi everyone. Came across this 2005 D Jefferson Buffalo Nickel. It looks like a DDR but I can’t find anything like it. Working on better pictures. Input please Edited April 18 by Shelbygz
Sandon
Welcome to the NGC chat board. I don't see doubling of any type in your photos. (What letters or other design elements do you think are doubled?) I do see a shiny substance covering much of the reverse that could be tape or glue residue and might be removed by soaking the coin in acetone. P.S. A doubled die is classified as a die variety, not a mint error. See Variety vs. Mint Error | NGC (ngccoin.com).
Mike Meenderink
Hello and welcome to the forum. Your coin does not appear to be a doubled die coin. The coin does however exhibit a struck through grease error. This is a common error and not a particularly valuable error. Although some collectors do chase these coins they are not worth very much. The wavy appearance on the coin with all the lumps and bumps tell me this coin was struck though a heavy layer of grease.
