Registry Rules

In case you missed it in the Registry forum:

What are the official rules regarding a coin being allowed to participate in the Registry. Of course, it must have been certified by NGC or PCGS and it must still be owned by the participant, BUT MUST IT REMAIN IN THE SLAB?

Many coins, such as the Childs 1804 dollar, are removed from the slab after certification. Does this preclude using the coin in the Registry? How about if the coin is subsequently submitted for grading to another service (ie: NGC grades it and then it is submitted to ANACS for a variety that NGC doesn't recognize)?
