Hi

hope you’re all well,

I found a 50 dollar gold certificate bill from 1913 series, PMG 60+ ones sell in the thousands. This one isn’t in the best of condition, any ideas on what grade it would get from PMG and what the value is?

any ideas would be appreciated

Thanks

Congrats on finding the bill !! (thumbsu  I am curious as to where you "found" it, if you would let us know.

Here's the grading definitions used by PMG, the leading currency grader.  I woul say your bill is either in the Very Good or Very Fine buckets....probably VG-10 or VF-12 as the bill has tears and gaps along the sides.  It is also very worn.  Not sure if it is any special print which would add to the value.

Still, I bet it has a FMV of $100 or a bit more.

I'd graded it at VG 8, probably worth in the $400-$800 range.

This is a forum for coins, while I don't really mind others might so it would best to post notes over at NGC's sister company PMG or maybe in the watercooler section. I'm over there, PMG, all the time but it's pretty dead for the most part.

EDIT TO ADD:

I believe this is Fr. # 1199, Teehee / Burke sigs.
