Please post cropped photos of each full side of a coin about which you have questions, as well as any pertinent closeup. Based on what I can see from the single photo, the first "9" in the date of what I assume is a 1939 Lincoln cent has simply been deformed by a scrape and is not indicative of a mint error. Greenstang Posted February 9 Share Posted February 9 (edited) Not an error, just damage from taking a hit that flattened the 9. There is no way for that to happen when the coin was struck.
