7K US State Series MS 70 NGC Real Value and Buyer Comments

I'm looking at selling some of my 7K US State Series, MS 70 NGC.

Some buyers advised that Slab/MS 70 Status means nothing to them and is quite bulky, so they just offered 25, When I showed your site and estimate value, they advised it did not matter; it was just a number to the 7K folks happy based on their membership process and uplines and downlines payouts.

Other buyers advised that 30-40 would be a fair collector value of the coin  (MS 70) not the State Series for 7K.

Could you please advise on best options to consider when selling—fair percentage value based on your registry of these coins you graded?

On the fence of the 7K Process.

I am not connected with NGC in any way, but I can offer an opinion. Recent "sold" listings on Ebay show these 7k state series eagles in MS 70 selling at prices from $50 to $80. If you are only being offered $25 - 40, you might want to consider listing them on Ebay

Thank you for the insight - I looked at a few and not sure how they justify the price - when some of the bids started at 1.00  and worked their way up.  At one of the 7K events, I recall small talk on how some of the sponsors know each other and do this type of bidding to keep interest in those who are novices/newbies. I did not put 1 and 1 together until recently

I just wonder how NGC / collectors can justify a State Series.   When the Coin is just a MS70 Eagle XYZ Year.

Thank you again for the inidght.

Hello @vetemt

Thank you for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, I cannot assist in estimating a sales price for your graded coins. NGC does not appraise the value of coins or suggest selling prices. The prices you see online in the price guide or posted on the coin's certification page are provided by a third party and are based on auction sales data.

To determine current market value, you may also try to review recent completed auctions on sites such as eBay or the posted sales prices of online coin dealers.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.
