I agree that this is a form of mechanical doubling. It is step like in appearance and not at the same height as the rest of the fully struck image. I also do not see any notches where there are corners.

Looking at a few examples, it looks like it might be the HK-331. Someone better with medals might be able to give you a 100% on that.
